Giant at Plantation Plaza is running a doubled CHAS discount through 25 September 2026. Blue cardholders get 6% off on Thursdays. Orange cardholders get 6% off on Fridays. The usual in-store CHAS rate is 3%. Giant confirmed the extension on its promotions page and Instagram.
How the 6% CHAS days work at this Giant
The campaign started on 3 September 2026 and covers all Giant stores in Singapore, including the 1,825 sq m basement supermarket at 127 Plantation Crescent. You have to shop in store. Giant's CHAS FAQ says the card discount is not valid online or on foodpanda.
Bring the physical CHAS card or a digital copy and be at the cashier yourself. A relative cannot use your card if you are not there. There is no minimum spend on the standard in-store CHAS discount. The 6% also stacks on items that already have a yellow-tag price, which is the useful bit if you time a weekly shop for Thursday or Friday.
Giant's own terms still exclude tobacco, alcohol, newspapers and magazines, infant milk powder, consumer electronics, gift vouchers, lottery, and concessionaire counters. Ask at the till if you are unsure about a mixed trolley.
A simple Thursday or Friday trolley plan
This Giant opens at 8am, two hours before most of the mall, and closes at 10pm. If you hold a Blue card, Thursday morning is quieter than a weekend. Orange cardholders get Friday. The discount is on the whole eligible bill, so it is worth grouping rice, frozen food, household paper, and the week's meat into that one trip rather than splitting it across three days.
Seniors who are Singapore citizens or PRs aged 60 and above still get Giant's separate 4% off every Tuesday until 31 December 2026. That is a different scheme from CHAS. If you qualify for both, Tuesday and Thursday or Friday are the two days that actually move the needle here. Do not expect the 6% CHAS rate on a Tuesday unless Giant publishes a change.
Staff at this outlet have been known to flag expiring yuu vouchers at the self-checkout. That is worth a second look if you also carry yuu, because a CHAS day and a voucher you were about to waste is a better combination than either one alone.
What else is on at this Giant in September
Giant's Super Savings pages are still live, with weekly marked-down lines. EverydayOnSales listed selected grocery cuts running until 9 September 2026. Treat those as while-stocks-last tags on the shelf, not a promise that every SKU is cheap.
yuu members can still enter Giant's You Shop, yuu Pay draw until 16 September 2026 with a $20 receipt at this store. That campaign is separate from CHAS. Paying with any method still qualifies for CHAS if the card is presented. The draw needs yuu app consent under Account Settings, Preferences.
The 4 to 6 September yuu member specials list also named Tengah Plantation Plaza as a participating store. Those three-day SKUs change often. If you missed the weekend, the CHAS 6% window is the one that still has weeks left.
Getting to Giant without a car
Plantation Plaza sits at Blocks 126A to 127 along Plantation Crescent, next to Tengah Community Club. The nearest bus stop is Plantation Cres, Tengah CC (40389). Trunk buses from Jurong East, Bukit Batok, and Choa Chu Kang drop you within a short covered walk. Tengah Plantation MRT on the Jurong Region Line is still targeted for 2028, so buses remain the public-transport default.
HDB basement parking at 128A / 128B is the usual car option. If you are combining Giant with Koufu upstairs or Swensen's on Level 1, give yourself extra time on Friday evenings. The supermarket itself is large enough that a full weekly shop does not force you into the mall peak if you arrive before 5pm.
Giant Instagram is the fastest check if the 6% dates shift again. The last change was an extension from the earlier 30 July to 28 August window through to 25 September 2026. Terms can change without much warning, so keep the card out at payment and read the till prompt.
