Rude staff. I got shouted at by a foreign worker when I didn't close their box fully. Will not buy from them again.

I had a very disappointing experience with BreadTalk recently. On the morning of 19 December, I bought bacon sandwiches from the Canberra Plaza outlet around 8:25 AM. To my disgust, I found a long strand of hair inside one of the sandwiches. It was absolutely revolting, and I ended up throwing the entire sandwich away. I reached out to customer service, hoping they would address the issue professionally. Unfortunately, the response was even more disappointing. The officer who called me proposed that I call them a day in advance and visit the outlet the next day to get a replacement sandwich. This is an absurd and inconvenient solution for an issue caused by their lack of hygiene. To make matters worse, they didn’t even offer any form of compensation, such as vouchers, for the inconvenience and distress caused. As a long-time customer, I expected much better from BreadTalk.

Staff are efficient and friendly. They open until late, which makes it a good place to buy last-minute snacks. The chocolate scones are pretty good, but rather expensive at $4.50 for 6 small pieces. Thankfully, there were plenty of chocolate chips, and each bite is full of chocolatey goodness.

The usual BreadTalk outlet, found almost everywhere. Bought some scones recently, and while the raisin scones were good, avoid the cheese scones as they were very dry and inedible. The service, however, was excellent.

Here's an edited version with minimal changes to improve grammar and readability: "I just bought some breads from BreadTalk at Canberra Plaza. The staff told me I needed to pay 10 cents for the plastic bag. OMG! Surely, when I buy bread, they have to give me a bag; otherwise, how am I to take the bread? So, when the campaign to recycle and reduce plastic bag use started, companies just took the chance to reduce their costs and make more profits. 😒🙄"

As a resident in Canberra, I would like to compliment this Breadtalk outlet. Due to our household needs, we have made purchases from Breadtalk almost every day for the past 5+ years. Staff members Rong and Vi have been very friendly and warm when serving us. Whenever new products are in store, they also promptly introduce them to us. Compared to other Breadtalk outlets and nearby bakeries, we much prefer to make our purchases at this Canberra outlet. We've noticed that the team here maintains the store exceptionally well: it's bright and always sparkling clean, trays and tongs are consistently clean, breads are neatly displayed and constantly replenished, and the quality and appearance of the breads are always uniform, appealing, fresh, and well-baked. Service at the counter is also fast and highly efficient; they even take the extra care and effort to pack our purchases gently and nicely instead of rushing through. Staff, and even your chefs, are always very approachable, smiling, and welcoming. It's very nice to see them working as a team (regardless of their positions), helping each other out, especially when the store gets busy. I hope this Google review reaches the headquarters and that credit goes where credit is due. Please keep up the good job, and may other outlets learn from them in maintaining the high quality and service standards of Breadtalk.

BreadTalk in Canberra Plaza: The taste and quality are great, but the price has been slowly rising.
